This is a full circle sequence.

It starts with the protagonist being busy being heroic, but they’re struggling and their struggles will lead them to make mistakes, both big and small. Some, having long lasting consequences. After the mistakes are made, no matter their size, the protagonist tries to ignore the mistakes in favor of making some sort of headway. It could be small, large or fleeting. This could involve cornering an adversary, the main villain, or something completely inconsequential. Then the protagonist finds themselves almost buried in his troubles. These troubles could be physical, mental or emotional. These troubles need to nearly consume the protagonist, but the consequences of the paralyzation need to match that of the troubles themselves. At some point, the protagonist finally defeats their paralyzation and extricates themselves using their own skills, training and brawn, or help from friends, strangers or even adversaries. Lastly, and completing the circle, the protagonist makes a deliberate choice to continue, even if the chances of success are slim.
